DAVID S. ROLAND

David Roland is President, owner and resident lead software engineer of both Advanced Intelligent Networks Corporation (AINC) and Roland Projects, Inc.

Roland holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science from Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester, New York. His programming experience includes system design and coding for numerous real-time multitasking operating systems related to telephony products. He has also authored data file converters, test suites, editors, hardware drivers, business programs simulation systems and graphics libraries. Roland specializes in language and system development, and parser construction.

Before starting AINC, Mr. Roland was a consultant with his firm, Roland Projects, Inc. where he developed System90 software, a call processing environment for the telecommunications industry. Roland Projects originally started in 1981 and has grown throughout the years. From his position as a contract software engineer, Roland provided his services to several other companies during his career, including Eastman Kodak Company and Computer Consoles, Inc. He also worked directly for several other industry companies, including Sykes Datatronics, Inc., Omnipage, Inc., and Radionics. His most recent employer, prior to returning to consulting, was Northern Telecom, Inc. where he served as a Project Engineer, and developed a new technology for audiotex applications.

Since 1991 Roland has chaired numerous groups within the North American ISDN Users' Forum (NIUF), an industry body chartered and sponsored by the National Institute of Standards of Technology (NIST), formerly the National Bureau of Standards, under the Department of Commerce. Towards the end of the NIUF, Mr. Roland served as the Chairman of Enterprise Networking Data Interconnection Families (ENDIF) for the NIUF, and coordinated technical presentations, in addition to monitoring technical developments in the data inter-networking technologies.

Mr. Roland has an interest to develop educational service platforms by working with the National Information Technology Education Council (part of the Federal Information Processing Council) and the Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) industry to utilize the System90 and SohoNet technologies to provide a coast to coast educational network.
